The series started, maybe, with a small "analog" drawing* I did in March 2020. 

It was the day after lockdown. Thinking about having to stay in the apartment, confinement. Self-confinement.  I tried to draw some of my feelings in such a strange new world. The drawing reminded me of an older oil painting titled Ocean's Eye.

*analog drawings are described in Drawing on the Artist Within, by Betty Edwards. I've been doing them for years. I use them to explore feelings, or just to explore. 

Cette série nommé "Confinement" a commencé plus ou moins avec un petit dessin (5x5 cm) en mars 2020. C'est un dessin "analog," et il reflète mes émotions liées au confinement, c'est quoi ça ? pourquoi ça ? comment ? Dans quel monde sommes-nous maintenant?

Mais le dessin me rappelle un tableau d'avant, que je nomme Ocean's Eye ou Whale's Eye, une peinture à l'huile que vous voyez ci-dessus aux reflets jaunes et verts.
